May 22, 2007 mid-morning
Dear Diary, It's wet outside. I'm stuck inside. Managed to get my human to put me on her lap so I can blog. I should introduce you to my human, my special human. Her name is Carol. She's been my human since I was about eight weeks old. She never came looking for me, I went looking for her. Really, it's her doing that she's my human in that she gave away my sibs. My mom loved my sibs, but she didn't care for me. I was half the size of my sibs and I guess my mom figured I wasn't worth the effort. When my sibs disappeared, mom walked away from me. Every day after my sibs went away, I made the long journey from the barn to the deck by the house. And there I sat, staring at the house, day after day. Well, I sat there until another mom from the barn came and fetched me. Dart thought that I should be her kitten. Day after day I'd go to the house and Dart would come and drag me back to the barn. The humans seemed content to let this go on until I got sick with conjuctivitis. Then Carol came to my aid. She took me into the house and kept me with her, doing what she could to nurse me. She and her man had a lot of discussion about my going to the doctor. With about 40 cats on the property they debated what was affordable. By the time I got to the doctor I'd lost the sight in my left eye. But I eventually did regain my health. Carol had been carrying me around with her everywhere for weeks and she became very attached to me. So that is how she became my human. I slept with her, I sat in her lap, she made a sling type pouch for me to sit in as she went about her business. Her neice Melissa named me Lucky. Carol named me Trouble. So now I'm called Lucky Trouble. Got to go nap. I'll write more later.
